Jord is the God of Wealth, Luck, and Thieves. Jord has multiple "faces" or aspects, including a Merchant face and a Thief face.
Jord temples are relatively common, particularly in coastal and trading regions. In Middlesea, Jord priests have a significant presence in the Guild, and are considered reliable arbiters of justice within the thieves' community.
Notable Priests of Jord
- Jabril, a cloth merchant and traveling priest
- Carlo, uncle of Stella and priest of Jord
- Dora, who traveled with Princess Friga and noted that "Jord is the god of both Trade and Theft"
- Joseph, based at a Temple of Jord, who serves as a contact for the thieves' guild and who confronted Nesh over violations of Jord's rules
- Bert, local priest in the region, who attended a meeting of priests at a Tavern that was targeted by a Broken miracle
- Marsha, an ex-pirate who operates out of the Stone Table and offers sanctioned jobs with access to safehouses
Notable Events
- When the party sought to steal someone out of Middlesea on behalf of the Maharani, they were advised to consult a Thief-face priest of Jord, as the task required both diplomatic and criminal expertise. Both Jabril and Carlo were identified as potential contacts.
- Joseph confronted Nesh at midnight over violations of Jord's rules, acknowledging the cause was worthy but warning the party not to make contact with the underworld elsewhere in Red, as their actions were known.
- A fourth priest, expected by balance to be a Priest of Jord, went missing during a ritual event at Middlesea, with evidence of a stabbing and brief combat before everyone froze.
- The Church of Rush has been accused of encroaching on Jord's domain through priests of logistics that were described as "kind of Jordian."
- There are enough Priests of Jord high in the Guild that they would act against a confirmed servant of the Breaker, though they require clear evidence rather than suspicion.
