Kern

Kern is the only major human city in Green, located southeast of the Mountains.

The Queen Under the Mountains, a dwarf and ruler of the Mountain Kingdom, is the nominal ruler of Kern, though she does not pay close attention to it.

Kern was created as a unified country with Kor following the founding of the Avani Empire approximately 1683 years before C-4. The two regions were connected by a Land Bridge created during the War of the Lord and Lady.

Historical significance:

• During the Marriage Comet (C-7), a princess of Kor married a prince of Kern, formalizing their alliance.
• During the Great War (C-10), Kern and Kor led the defense against unified orc forces and rose to political prominence as a result.

(Managaratha's essence indicates that he is from Kern, which is unusual since most people's essence indicates their Zone of origin.)
