Dalin Jaseer is a young horse merchant, only 19 or 20 years old, who inherited his family business after both parents died within the last year. He was obligated to give a presentation to Her Majesty the Maharani, a duty originally intended for his mother.

During the caravan journey, Dalin proved skilled at cards, coming in a close second to Nesh. Gale noted he was open to flirtation. He was also observed as a target of Talinda's mysterious tent-sneaking activities, though investigation revealed only that she had cast spells on him that he did not initially remember—spells that made certain information seem unimportant rather than forgotten.
