Zerbina

Duchess Zerbina is the martial ruler of Darstan in central Red, co-founder of the upstart polity by marriage to Baron Volstak roughly twenty years ago.

Military Leadership

Zerbina personally commands Darstan's armies and is renowned for yearly conquests of new baronies and duchies, expanding the realm's territory systematically. She and Volstak form a formidable team: while she handles military campaigns, Volstak manages political consolidation of conquered lands. Though they retain ducal titles, Darstan functions as a kingdom in all but name. Their daughter is Princess Bella.

Current Crisis

During the Conclave at Middlesea, Baron Volstak vanished and suffered severe injuries. Zerbina felt the damage through their lifebond connection and has since been urgent and strategic in response. She dispatched agents to investigate, including:

• Hiraz (Red mage)

Zerbina maintains and strengthens the Life spell connecting her to Volstak across the distance, keeping him linked to her despite the crisis.

Political Situation

With Volstak missing, Darstan faces political vulnerability and pressure from neighboring powers, particularly King Richard's Lands and Berana. Zerbina is focused on rescuing her husband and stabilizing the realm while maintaining her ducal title rather than claiming kingship outright. She is politically shrewd and continues to operate from Darstan despite the strategic disadvantage of her husband's absence.
