Jabar

• • Jabar** is the Yellow region, located far across the Merfolk's Ocean from the mainland. It is home to significant populations of Centaurs and cataurs, with Diomarche's Herd located in the northeast. The region features five major rivers—the Queen's, the Great River, the New River (also called the Fifth River, created by the Lady), the Masahanalta, and the Merani—which meet the sea at major ports. Three High priests of the Goddess maintain cities near the mountains.

Jabar operates under a caste system called Varna, which divides the populace into nobles/warriors, "priests", merchants/craftsmen, and farmers/laborers. The region is ruled by a Maharani from the capital city. Centaurs have an unclear relationship with the Varna system; their herds divide along similar lines but are considered a separate set of Varna answering to the Maharani or the Ladies. Elves and half-elves are mostly incorporated into the Varna, while there are not enough Saurians to establish clear interactions with the system.

The region has experienced significant recent events:

• A Slith invasion threatened the Maharani's capital and northern waters
• Tremors in Feelings magic have been detected throughout Jabar, possibly related to the Lady of Love's attempt to move Feelings magic into the Goddess' domain
• The Oasis took over the desert area east of Jabar and seeks to expand further, either into Jabar or the Saurien homelands
• About half of the cataurs in Jabar became unbroken centaurs during the last Comet
• The party visited Jabar and was summoned by the Maharani to address various crises

The region's language is Jabaran, and illusions are common enough that direct rudeness is discouraged.
