When last we checked, there were 88 active ministries and 323 inactive ministries.
5th Rank Ministries
- War
- State (Foreign Affairs)
- Treasury
- Interior
4th Rank Ministries
- Redactions
- Repercussions
- Naval Trade (Affiliated with Treasury)
- Lions: The "Lions" this ministry deals with are largely a metaphor. It is the ministry in charge of Unusual Threats, be they monsters, dangerous wild magic, or Brokenness. An actual lion rampaging would fall into its bailiwick, but would not draw the minister's direct attention unless it was the size of a house. Even then, his attention would generally be "organizing a way to take care of it" rather than 'fighting it himself', although the minister is a skilled purple mage. (Also loosely affiliated with War)
- Grain (Affiliated with Treasury)
- Borders: Loosely affiliated with both the Ministry of War and the Ministry of State, the Minister of the Borders is responsible for the Borders in a more metaphysical sense, making sure that Red, Green, and the Broken Lands do not encroach on the Holy and Magical lands of the Empire.
- Fortune: Tasked to develop opportunities the Empire is presented with to its advantage.
- Magic
3rd Rank Ministries
- Lilacs : Perfumers generally. They were the newest Ministry as of the first time we were in Purple; they had been founded on the day of Middlesea, which we find Interesting and/or Suspicious.
- Pearls (Li Sun): Regulates actors. Involved with the assassinations somehow. Her sub-minister Tan Karu is second ranked instead of the usual first rank. Perhaps that's because he's a priest and she isn't, but Inspector Vok isn't sure.
Others
- The Inspectorate: Maybe they are the Ministry of Inspection, maybe not. It's unclear. Somewhat affiliated with Interior. Mostly separate. Both cops and auditors.
- Head Stallion's Troops: A military force composed mostly of centaurs who defend the Empire.
